8th EFC Satellite Meeting (European Federation of Colposcopy)

It took place in Brussels on 27&28 October 2023.
Two presentations by Christine Bergeron, President of Cerba Path and former President of the SCPCV, on the cytology and histopathology of intraepithelial neoplasia, and on the future of screening (what triage test for HPV-positive women?).

Colposcopy is a painless examination of the cervix and vagina using a binocular microscope (called a colposcope). The aim of colposcopy is to visualise any lesions and to take samples of abnormal tissue (biopsies) that may one day develop into cervical cancer. Laboratory analysis of these tissues enables a definitive diagnosis to be made.
